U.PARSE

Summary

Parses numbers, boolean values and datetimes from strings in a range of data

Syntax

=U.PARSE(data, [no_dates], [no_sci_notation], [null_indicator])

Parameters

Parameter Required Description
data Yes The cells whose values should be parsed
[no_dates] No If set to TRUE then no attempt is made to parse strings into datetime values
[no_sci_notation] No If set to TRUE then numbers in scientific notation will not be parsed
[null_indicator] No If set when parsing a file with fields then any field matching this value is set to blank

Behavior

The documented public interface is supported by the current U Add-in source signature and the maintained Usage Examples workbook. Optional parameters are shown in square brackets in the syntax above; omit the brackets when entering a formula.

Return Value

Returns the function result or action status described by the formula and parameters above. The maintained sources do not define a narrower, stable return contract for this function.
