U.DO

Summary

Evaluates any method when a specified trigger parameter recalculates

Syntax

=U.DO(expression, trigger, [keep_nulls], [freeze_seconds])

Parameters

Parameter Required Description
expression Yes The expression to be evaluated. The result of this parameter is returned.
trigger Yes A reference to another cell that, when recalculated, will cause U.DO to recalculate and therefore cause the specified expression to be re-evaluated.
[keep_nulls] No If set to TRUE then any empty values returned by expression will be returned as empty values, which Excel renders as a zero. By default empty values are replaced with blank strings
[freeze_seconds] No If set to a number greater than zero and less than or equal to 600, the method will freeze for that many seconds before returning. This can be used to simulate slow calcs when testing a sheet.

Behavior

The documented public interface is supported by the current U Add-in source signature and the maintained Usage Examples workbook. Optional parameters are shown in square brackets in the syntax above; omit the brackets when entering a formula.

Return Value

Returns the function result or action status described by the formula and parameters above. The maintained sources do not define a narrower, stable return contract for this function.
