U.GRID_TO_TABLE

Summary

Converts data in grid form to a table

Syntax

=U.GRID_TO_TABLE(grid, [row_labels], [col_labels], [value_label])

Parameters

Parameter Required Description
grid Yes The grid of data to be transformed into a table form
[row_labels] No Provide a list of column labels to be used over the grid's row labels in the table Or provide a number to indicate how many columns in the grid are row labels Or set to TRUE to indicate that the grid contains labels for its row labels
[col_labels] No Provide a list of column labels to be used over the grid's column labels in the table Or provide a number to indicate how many rows in the grid are column labels Or set to TRUE to indicate that the grid contains labels for its column labels
[value_label] No The column label for the grid's values in the returned table Or provide "columns(n)" where n is a number of columns to stack repeating groups of n columns that each have the row labels applied

Behavior

The documented public interface is supported by the current U Add-in source signature and the maintained Usage Examples workbook. Optional parameters are shown in square brackets in the syntax above; omit the brackets when entering a formula.

Return Value

Returns the function result or action status described by the formula and parameters above. The maintained sources do not define a narrower, stable return contract for this function.

Examples

=U.GRID_TO_TABLE(B5:E8)
=U.GRID_TO_TABLE(B5:E8,"Symbol","Date","Estimate")
=U.GRID_TO_TABLE(B31:E34,TRUE)

Notes

  • Formula examples are preserved from maintained workbook usage and normalized to the current U. prefix.
  • Complete formulas demonstrate working patterns; they do not imply that undocumented option values are supported.
  • Where maintained sources do not specify every accepted value, default, or error message, this page does not infer one.
  • For functions that perform actions, use a visible trigger or supported block/throttle parameter to avoid unintended repetition during recalculation.
